A fool says.... (Personal Studies, Part 2)

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God...." (Ps. 14:1).

In my studies, I came across a funny story that Grudem recounts that I thought you'd like to read. Enjoy!

Several years ago I was a passenger in a car with several friends, including a young woman who in conversation was firmly denying that she had any inner awareness of God's existence. Shortly thereafter the car hit a patch of ice and spun around in a complete circle at high speed. Before the car came to rest in a large snow bank (with no serious damage) this same woman could be heard distinctly calling out, "Lord Jesus, please help us!" The rest of us looked at her in amazement when we realized that her agnosticism had been disproved by words from her own mouth (Systematic Theology, Grudem, pp 141-142).
I hope that you enjoyed that story.

A fool has said in "her" heart, there is no God. (My translation)\
Good story.

Funny and sad, in a way. It is really sad when people only rely on God in the hard times but are not faithful in the rest of life.

God bless,

Yeah that story is funny, and again, definitely true. But, I just need to ask a question and I didn't have time to look for email. I just read a letter a kid wrote in a magazine. Basically, he argues a point that he's not sure whether or not he should play video games. He's not sure if God wants him to. He says that the Bible says that we should go into the world and preach the good news, and that video games help him relate to people. It also says that anything is permissable to me, but I will not be mastered by anything. I would like to hear a message on video games because I feel that's one of the biggest areas in my life. I'm sure others feel the same way. This guy in here seems to be a lot like me. So, should we? Oh, and can I have your email, pt? Thanks.

I've gotta get into the Full-Time Ministry... How was Cabo?

Don't believe video games is wrong in anyway. I love playing them. But just don't let them comsume your life. It stinks then. Don't let them become idols. We should preach the gospel to non-believers, but sometimes, Video Games CAN be a great icebreaker.Just don't let them control your life. Does that answer your question?
