Trust In The Grace of God

I was really encouraged by last night's "180 degrees". It was amazing the openness that some in our large-small group had. A big THANK YOU to all who shared. BTW - If you want to read my friend's comments on God being in control no matter what we do, his webpage is www.debtortograce.com. I hope it's an encouragement to you all! Let me know your thoughts on it after you read it....

Because of last night's meeting, I'm debating whether or not to simply have a "testimony/openness" night for all of us on April 12th. We could focus on confessing our faults and praying for one another so that we'll encourage and be encouraged. Let me know your thoughts....

As I close, I just ask that you all would pray for me, Jake, Anna, John & Diana especially as we go on the Adult Missions Trip this Friday night!!!! Thanks. See you April 16th. Posted by Picasa

I will definitely pray for you all.

I think the testimony time is a good idea. Although, I'd suggest breaking the guys and girls up into seperate groups so we can have a more personal confession time. If there's time afterwards, then I say we all get together and pray as a group. Just my thoughts.

Have a good time on the trip, I pray God will challenge you all in new and awesome ways!

Your sis in Christ,

Bethany

well, my thoughts areto seperater between guys and girls, then seperate into groups of two or three. mostly people you can trust, the have a confession time. that way ther is no chance of gossip.

Hey Guys,

These are my thoughts...I think we should STAY together at first. Pray for one other.(James 5:16) Then we can break up. Possibly seperate into small groups, mixed/unmixed sexes. Pray, then possibly get back together and sing praises to God.

Anonyomous, don't always assume of gosip. I pray that our youth grip would be tight and close. We need to unify, but how are we going to unify if we don't open up. I'm not saying open everything, but I think we can share somestuff. Also, we would want it because the Bible says we should confess oru faults to one another. it does not say only to same sexes...but that doesn't mean tell everyone everything, make sence?

(James 5:16)

OK GUYS, we need to have a good debate while PT2 is gone on vacation in Africa. WHOOPS I mean serving God serving on a mission trip. I mean mississpi. I have a good question on my blog. Check it out! www.agapejustin.blogspot.com

Anyways, I have to go...

p.s.Canvising was the man!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

well luke,
do you want the entire school or church body to know what you are struggling with, even if it is personall?
~Anonymos(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

Anonymous, You wouldn't share your deepest stuggles...Example, I know who Luke really is. He knows who I am really. We are very close spiritually. He wouldn't just go out and tell people this stuff. Luke and I have a awesome friendship.

Make sence?

But we can confess some sins but not the deepest, make sence?

-Justin

p.s.Like I would never encourage someone to confess a sin such as pornography in a mixed setting...make sence?

Anonymous said...

justin~
yeah, that does, but on the other side; there are some people whoa are not comfortable in that type of situation. imean with confessin and stuff like that. they will probably not show up, depending on whose their, imean it is a fear of man issue, but i think we should not have it.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

Well, the Bible says in James 5:16 that we should, so if we don't, I think it might be sin. Confess our sins to one another as it says in James... So we should confess our sins, understand???

-Justin

Anonymous said...

well, not to other people, do it to people that you can trust.
~Anonymous(original)

Anonymous said...

do you think that other people might be afriad to share even simple things?
~Anonymous(original)

Anonymous said...

hey guys!! its me again,,
great comments., essp with PT2 gone! YEAH> isn't it great- no conviction! ahha.
i think its great to share things in a group, just be real and honest. NO FEAR OF MAN, sometimes when 1 person opens up, so will others.. its takes a humble person to the first one, but hey, we all struggle and its the humble that admit it! no matter what it is!!!
ps- agapeboy- go back to spelling school. sence is spelled sense!!!!

just read a strange article!
COULD JESUS OF WALKED ON ICE?
oh brother. the BIBLE says water. duh, but this article said that due to changes in the sea of galilee and records, the temp back then was about 25, and he could of walked on patches of ice. etc.. it was SO DUMB! amazing what people waste there time studying and getting paid too! oh my!!!

AgapeTheologian said...

Anonymous,

Look at James 5:16! It says 'One another.' It doesn't not say a few or who you can trust. But their would be no trust if you don't open yourself up. Confess your faults(sins) to one another...Straight out from God. Make sense?

-Justin

Anonymous said...

k,
christ may have walked on patchs of ice, as the article says.. however it might have been watter over the ice, so that is where they say water.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

But then one of the disciples fell through the ice? The others were in a boat fishing? That wouldn't make sense...

Anonymous said...

yeah it would because you can fall through ice.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

You can't be in a boat in ice fishing. How would you get it out there unless it was really thin. But it doesn't say that. It says Jesus walked on water not ice. When you fish in a boat, it's on water!

Anonymous said...

well what if it was thin ice, and the boat could break through it, remeber it is only the early a.ds.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

Anonymous, just think about what you are saying!

Their wouldn't be a boat on thin ice. It was water! Not a form of water. Water is water, it wouldn't be such a powerful miracle if He walked on water... How can you cast a net in ice? It was a stormy night!

It's either the Bible is true, or it is not!!! I believe the Bible is 100% true. Don't know about you, butI know the Bible is inspired by God.

So, the water is water as the Bible says...not ice...Make sense?

Anonymous said...

anonynous,
y did the bible say water if you think it was ice???
do you think that God lied in the bible

Anonymous said...

no, no. you know when ice nreaks apart into smaller ice patches, well that may have what happened.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

But when you fish, you used nets... The ice would have been in the way! So, you couldn't of then fished!

Anonymous said...

good point justin

AgapeTheologian said...

Anonymous, one last thing. It's kindof dumb that we are arguing over something so simple, So I went into the greek definitions(a strong) and here it is.

G5204
ὕδωρ, ὕδατος
hudōr hudatos
hoo'-dor, hoo'-dat-os, etc.
From the base of G5205; water (as if rainy) literally or figuratively: - water.

Water here is used like a rainy water, so then it couldn't of been ice. Or it would say hail! Not RAIN

ANyways, hopefully this argument has come to a close!

Have a nice day,

In Christ,

-Justin

Anonymous said...

well, you have to remeber this is very early a.d. so therefore, since they were fishermen the might of not known the difference.
~Anonymous(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

What do you mean? It says rain, that was the original manuscripts. it would have said SNOW. You are taking the Bible WAY OUT OF CONTEXT. If it says water, I will believe it says water unless there is PROOF to look at it different. But here, the Bible says water, like rain. SO I will believe that God knew what He meant!

-Justin

Anonymous said...

the bible would not say water if it was "thin ice".
and God can do mericals so he coud walk on water right?

Anonymous said...

but if it was water, jesus could have walked on rocks in the water, did you ever think about that!
~Anonymous(original)
p.s. there are many possibilities for this miracle.

AgapeTheologian said...

No there are not. The Jesus walked toward the boat. I believe it was Peter who got out of the boat and started to walk and then Jesus pulled him up when he had unbelief.

It doesn't say he walked on Rocks! That wouldn't be a miracle. I could do that! You could do that! Jesus was doing a MIRACLE!

Only one possiblility as it says on the orginal manuscripts, it was WATER! And WATER meaning WATER!

I think and so do some other, you need to humble yourself and admit you are wrong. You keep on coming up with excuses that don't even make sense. Humble.

Pastor Timothy said...

Okay, this is interesting, but let's try to pull the conversation back.... Anonymous, if you still have questions (or if you just want to argue), you can e-mail. Sound fair? Let's try to stay on topic here. Thanks... :)

Anonymous said...

hey justin,
if it says water, then what about the other miracles, such as turning water into wine or the calming of storms. the calming of storms was probably a bit of luck that the storm ended when he lifted up his hands and said his words. did you think of the other miracles that could have not been a miracle.
~Anonymuos(original)

AgapeTheologian said...

Yes, what is your point. Oh, so it just so happened that the boat and the water were perfectly still? It didn't matter that the disciples has faith in Jesus? It was all fake? I guess God lied! I guess the Bible isn't worth reading if God isn't full of truth? I guess water, every so often just turns into wine, even though I have never seen it done, I bet it happenes. You know, it reminds me of evolution. Just like we might of came from a fish that swims. But it doesn't happen today? All these missing links. But where does it all come from? Oh, ya, missing links, I forgot. Missing links? The missing link is GOD the Father in Heaven!

Back to your question Anonymous, are you doubting God, and saying he lies? Didn't you see Life Action here and what God is doing in my church and the churches in the community? God is at work and you are just doubting Him? It kinda remind me of Jonah, in a way. Maybe you should read it, Oh, but you have to believe that God exist and made you and loves you! Well, I got to go. But is the Bible real? You are saying it isn't, it is!

Anonymous said...

well it could just happen like magicians in egypt or just plain magicians could possibly do that.
~Anonymous(original)

Anonymous said...

well what about the catholic bible it a has books in it that our bible does not have. so that bible might be true.
~Anonymous(origianl)

AgapeTheologian said...

Except the magicians in Egypt, God allowed itto happen and I heard commentaters say the magicians were surprised. The devil was at hand there. But who one in the end? JESUS, God, Moses, the good guys.

Jesus is God, so, that should do it!

AgapeTheologian said...

The catholic extra books are not inspried by God. Luther, a old catholic, before he became a calvinist, even said they were not inspired by God! I havn't studied catholic bible because I know it's not 100% true, so, with that, I would suggest talking to your mom, or if you know Mrs. Field pretty good, she used to be catholic and can help if you are comfortable asking her questions about this. I think you should talk to her though...

p.s.Bring over the topic to my site. I have some other good topics there to, From guys night out-Purity-Tulip(5 points of calvinism). And a free spot, so come on over! http://www.agapejustin.blogspot.com
