Walking Through The Gray

It's very interesting. Have you ever sat down with someone and talked about a certain issue and that person come s up on the exact opposite page that you're on? What makes it even more difficult is when both people are godly. And, what's even more difficult is when both people are coming up with the exact same reasons why they're on the opposite page.

You know, we all have times where life is just plain fuzzy. Have you ever had thoughts like these (thoughts that I've had)? - Does God want me to go to this college or that one? Am I supposed to marry her? If I just act cooler, will people like me more? Why don't these people like me? How can I ensure that my son is saved at a young age and seeks to obey God?

To be honest with you, I like black and white scenarios. Scenarios that are easily fixable. But, there's a TON of gray out there - scenarios that aren't as easy to "fix." But, even though a scenario is "gray", God's Word is clear on the steps we're supposed to take right now - "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps. 119:105). Praise God that He gives us the wisdom we need for today. However, many times people want more than that. And, in the end, their practical god is merely to have more information. The reality is that we are to pursue the Lord in an all-satisfying relationship. If we are doing that, the Lord will direct our thinking and our steps. And, even if we (or others) misstep, God promises that "for those who love God, all things work together for good" (Rom. 8:28).

So, take heart. When things are confusing, God's your ROCK! Keep focusing on Him and trust His care.
